Writing has been a life long passion of mine. I’ve spent years putting pen and paper together working on various projects. Until recently, I have never shared anything I’ve written, nor has the thought cross my mind to search for a publisher.
The truth of the matter is. I’ve never felt that I was a good enough writer to get the acknowledgement that publishing may bring. My work has always been for my eyes only. A hidden talent that was to be appreciated only by myself. I could explain the reasons behind this, but that’s a story for another day.
One day, out of curiosity I let a friend read a book that I had written and to my surprise she love the book. It was my first book and it was called Bishop. She said that it should be published which both shocked and frightened me, but in a good way that empowered me to begin self-publishing my work. The small recognition help me overcome my lack of confidence in my own work after worrying that no one to be interested.
I decided to test the waters and I came up with a name which I still use today. That name is Diamonds Inc. Writing. With a name in hand I posted the first part of my book on Facebook in episodic segments much like a TV serial. With nothing more than the hope at my work would be liked and the people would take the time to read each chapter the words simply begin to flow from my mind to paper. I don’t expect everyone to like or even read them, nor do I expect any recognition for the work I do. So thank you for giving me the chance to write what I love and you have it read by you is enough for me.
